About us
Our mission
GoFibre works on the simple premise that fast, reliable broadband should be available to everyone. After all, just think of all the things we use the internet for these days…
Many of us now work from home and regularly connect with our colleagues online. We pay bills and book holidays without leaving our living rooms. Then there’s all the streaming, gaming, socialising, shopping, learning and much, much more.
Our mission is to make that an enjoyable experience for as many homes as possible. Whether you’re in the countryside, towns or cities, everyone deserves great broadband for a digital life without limits.
Providing the full fibre internet access to places underserved digitally.
Our story
GoFibre is the trading name for Borderlink Broadband, a Scottish independent broadband provider, founded by our CEO, Alex Cacciamani in his hometown of Duns. GoFibre was created out of the need to solve Alex’s broadband problems at home.
After moving to the Scottish Borders in 2017 with his wife and three kids, he realised quickly there was a need for faster broadband in these rural areas and set about solving the issue for himself.
Building the next generation in broadband connectivity
Numbers don’t tell the whole story, but they help! Here’s what we’ve achieved so far:
Number of employees
Active Build Locations
number Of office locations
Digging our way to you
At the moment, GoFibre broadband mainly covers underserved areas in the South and East of Scotland, but we’re growing fast. Our goal is to connect half a million homes and businesses across Scotland and Northern England in the next three and a half years.
A pipedream? Not at all. We’ve committed to investing £174 million in our state-of-the-art fibre broadband infrastructure, so we can bring the fastest, most reliable connectivity to communities everywhere.

We’ve got decades of combined experience in the telecoms industry. We’re a friendly bunch, too.
