GoFibre routers technical information
Are you wanting to get to know your GoFibre routers better? Are you wondering what your router lights mean? Do you want to know how to connect a device to your router with a LAN cable? The answers to these and many more questions are below.
Before you can get the information that is relevant for your GoFibre router. Please identify the GoFibre router you have from the images below.
GoFibre Standard Router
The GoFibre Standard router is built for performance. With Wi-Fi 6, it delivers lightning-fast speeds, improved range, and more capacity, so everyone in your home can stream, game, and browse at the same time, no lag, no interruptions.

This is the front and back of your GoFibre Standard router.


The circle on the right of the back of your GoFibre Standard router is the router light. Information on your router light is below:
- Green: Your router is connected to the internet.
- Amber (flashing): Your router is in the process of booting up. Please wait a few minutes for your router to connect to the internet.
- Red: Your router has no internet connection. Please check the WAN cable is plugged into your GoFibre Standard router and connected to your optical network terminal (ONT). Your ONT is a white box that was installed by a GoFibre engineer. If the light is still red then please follow these troubleshooting steps.

The ports and buttons on the back of your GoFibre Standard router are, from left to right:

GoFibre Advanced Router
The GoFibre Advanced router is the most advanced router that GoFibre has ever offered customers. It will deliver faster, more reliable Wi-Fi, a stronger signal in your home and smooth HD and 4K streaming. This is the front of your GoFibre Advanced router. There is a vertical light on the router.

Information on your GoFibre Advanced light is below.
- Green: Your router is connected to the internet.
- Amber (flashing): Your router is in the process of booting up. Wait a few minutes for your router to connect to the internet.
- Red: Your router has no internet connection. Please check the WAN cable is plugged into your router and connected to your optical network terminal (ONT). Your ONT is a white box that was installed by a GoFibre engineer. If the light is still red then please follow these troubleshooting steps.
This is the back of your GoFibre Advanced router.

The ports and buttons on the back of your GoFibre Advanced router are, from top to bottom:
- WPS button: You use this button to connect GoFibre extenders and other devices wirelessly to your GoFibre Advanced router.
- Reset: This will reset your router. Please don’t do this unless you are advised to by GoFibre Customer Service.
- VOIP Phone: These ports are used to connect a VOIP-enabled phone if you have signed up for our Call Plan+ service. For more information on Call Plan+ click here.
- LAN Ethernet: You can use these ports to connect your devices via an Ethernet cable.
- WAN: You connect your optical network terminal (ONT) installed by a GoFibre engineer to this port. Please don’t remove this cable as your GoFibre broadband will stop working.
- Power: This port is used to connect your power cable.
GoFibre Zyxel router
The GoFibre Zyxel router delivers excellent Wi-Fi speeds in your home enabling the whole family to stream, play and browse.

This is the front of your GoFibre Zyxel router. There are 7 lights at the top of the router. The list below gives you information on the lights and what they mean.
Power:
- Power - Green: Your GoFibre router is turned on.
- Power - Green (blinking): Your GoFibre router is starting up.
- Power - Amber (blinking): Your GoFibre router is completing a software update. Please do not turn your router off.
- Power - Red: Your GoFibre router detected a power error. Make sure the plug socket is turned on at the wall and the power cable is inserted correctly into the router. Please contact us if this doesn’t resolve your issue.
- Power - Off: Your router is turned off or isn’t receiving power. Make sure the plug socket is turned on at the wall and the power cable is inserted correctly into the router. Please contact us if this doesn’t resolve your issue.
WPS:
- WPS - Amber (blinking): WPS is active. Wi-Fi Protection Set-up (WPS) is a wireless method that is used to connect certain Wi-Fi devices, such as printers and security cameras, to your Wi-Fi network without using a password.
Internet:
- Internet - Green: Your router is connected to the internet.
- Internet - Red: Your router has no internet connection. Please check the WAN cable is plugged into your router and is connected to your optical network terminal (ONT). Your ONT is a white box that was installed by a GoFibre engineer. If the light is still red then please follow these troubleshooting steps.
LAN:
- LAN - Green: You have a device connected to your GoFibre router using a LAN cable.
- LAN - Off: You do not have a device connected to your GoFibre router using a LAN cable. This is completely normal if you don’t have a device connected to your GoFibre router with a LAN cable and it does not mean your internet isn’t working.
GHz:
- 2.4GHz - Green: You have a device connected to your ultra-range 2.4GHz network.
- 5GHz - Green: You have a device connected to your ultra-fast 5GHz network.
Phone:
- Phone - Green: You have a phone connected to your GoFibre router.
This is the back of your GoFibre Zyxel router.

The ports and buttons on the back of your router are, from left to right:
- Power button: Pressing this button will turn your router on or off. Please don’t turn your router off as your GoFibre broadband will stop working.
- Reset: This will reset your router. Please don’t do this unless you are advised to do so by GoFibre Customer Service.
- Power Port: This port is used to connect your power cable.
- VOIP Phone: These ports are used to connect a VOIP-enabled phone if you have signed up for our Call Plan+ service. For more information on Call Plan+ click here.
- LAN Ethernet: You can use these ports to connect your devices using an Ethernet cable.
- WAN: You connect your optical network terminal (ONT) installed by a GoFibre engineer to this port. Please don’t remove this cable as your GoFibre broadband will stop working.
- Wi-Fi: Pressing this button will turn your Wi-Fi on or off. Please don’t turn your Wi-Fi off as your GoFibre broadband will stop working.
- WPS button: You use this button to connect GoFibre extenders and other devices wirelessly to your GoFibre router.
